In this talk, I will present a novel family of programmable metamaterial based programmable multistable mechanisms (PMM). PMMs are multistable mechanisms where the stability behavior depends on the mechanism boundary conditions. Different examples of PMMs will be presented to illustrate the concept of stability programming.

A DIY approach to Rapid Liquid Printing – Duo presentation Jori van der Kolk & Vimukthi Gunatilleke, Eindhoven University of Technology, at 4D Printing & Meta Materials Conference, on April 17, during the 3D Printing Event at Brightlands Chemelot Campus in The Netherlands.

Rapid Liquid printing is a 3D printing technology where a viscous material is printed in a suspension material. Based on research from MIT’s self-assembly lab, Jori and Vim build a Liquid printer from readily available 3D printer parts. They will elaborate on the building process of the machine and talk about the future possibilities of this technology in the design process.
